A Sweet Contemporary College RomanceTitle: Just One Night Author: C.A. Harms Series: Oh’ Tequila, Book 6 (Standalone) Genre: College Romance, New Adult Isaac is a ladies man. He's been with his share of women - in fact, his fraternity brothers think of him as the house slut. But even Isaac has rules. He would never ever sleep with one of his best friends' sisters. That is, until Tequila makes the decision for him and he kinda, sorta accidentally breaks his rule... In Just One Night, the sixth and final book in the Oh Tequila Series by C.A. Harms, Isaac sleeps with Jade, his friend Jay's sister, in a drunken night that he can't quite remember. In his defence, he didn't know the hot blonde he was with was Jade until the morning. And he didn't know that Jay would be standing right outside his bedroom door when she tried to escape the morning after. And when Jay has his hands wrapped in a strangle hold around Isaac's neck, he tries to say all this - and just makes matters worse. Yup, Isaac has crossed the line, and no one knows it better than he does. As for Jade, she's embarrassed, and knows she has disappointed her brother, and she doesn't want to let on that she remembers everything about the night in question, and is kind of sad that Isaac claims he doesn't. Basically, this book starts out with a big mess that the characters have to dig their way out of. Even though this is the sixth book in the series, I read it as a standalone and still enjoyed it. That doesn't mean I won't go read the other ones - I'd love to see how the other couples got their start. I liked how Isaac grows in this book. He went from not really caring who got affected by his actions, to realizing that maybe it was time to stop being a frat brother, and start being a man. I also liked the affinity I felt for Jade. She has confidence issues and has been hurt in her life, and that affects her choices. She's a realistic and likeable character. Seeing her and Isaac slowly build their relationship was great and seeing her slowly gain confidence was so worth the journey. This book is about discovering who you really are and how you want to be seen by those around you. It's about discovering what you really want in life. It's about realizing that some mistakes aren't really mistakes at all - they can lead you to where you need to be in life. I really enjoyed Just One Night, and I'm excited that I was introduced to this author, and to the Oh Tequila world. Thank you to the author and to HEAPRMore for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Blurb:
A guy should never, and I do mean never, hook up with his friend’s sister. It doesn’t matter how hot she is or how many times he’s imagined her in a not-so-innocent way. Nope. Those visuals should always remain hidden deep down in a dark place. But of course, I just had to drink until I couldn’t see straight and screw everything up. Now, I know what you’re thinking, and I swear it wasn’t my fault. It was that damn tequila. I never expected to wake up naked only a few feet away from the woman I never should have touched. But man, reality had been so much better than any fantasy I’d ever had. But it all went downhill fast when she opened the door to leave and came face to face with none other than her brother, who is also one of my best friends. I’m a dead man, but Jade might actually be worth it. And to think, all it took to change everything was… Just One Night.
